Carbon black dispersion testing evaluates how evenly carbon black particles are distributed through the polyethylene matrix, using optical microscopy. Thin microtomed sections of the pipe or compound are examined under a microscope and compared against standard reference charts to assign a dispersion grade (A to E) per ISO 18553. Good dispersion is essential โ even with correct carbon black content, poorly dispersed agglomerates create weak points that shorten pipe life.
Every HDPE pipe and fitting manufacturer, and every masterbatch producer supplying carbon black masterbatch, must demonstrate acceptable dispersion to ISO 18553, ASTM D5596 and IS 12235. The test complements carbon black content testing and is required for BIS certification of pressure pipe.
The essential equipment is a good-quality optical microscope with the correct magnification, a microtome to prepare thin sections, and the ISO 18553 reference charts for grading. International Equipments supplies carbon black dispersion microscopy systems configured for pipe-industry compliance testing.
Kenya's rapidly growing plastics industry and expanding water infrastructure create strong demand for HDPE water-pipe testing, agro-film and packaging quality control compliant with KS/EAS and ISO standards. International Equipments exports pipe-testing panels, carbon-black systems, MFI testers and the wider polymer range to Kenyan laboratories, meeting ISO 4427 and ASTM D1238, with full export documentation and reliable freight from Mumbai to East Africa.
International Equipments has been exporting testing instruments from its Mumbai facility since 1971 and understands the documentation and logistics involved in delivering to Republic of Kenya. Each Carbon Black Dispersion Tester is CE marked, configured for your regional power supply, and shipped with a commercial invoice, packing list, certificate of origin, CE declaration of conformity and a traceable calibration certificate. We work with established freight forwarders for safe sea and air delivery, and provide user manuals, video-based training and remote technical support so your team can commission the Carbon Black Dispersion Tester confidently even without an on-site visit.
Exporting pipe and polymer testing equipment to Kenya's growing plastics industry and water infrastructure sector.
