A falling-dart impact tester that determines the impact failure weight of plastic films and sheeting by the free-falling dart method, to ASTM D1709 and IS 2508.
Dart impact is the standard toughness test for plastic film. A weighted dart is dropped onto a clamped film specimen; by raising or lowering the weight in steps the tester finds the weight at which 50% of specimens fail — the film impact failure weight.
International Equipments builds a dart impact tester to ASTM D1709 and IS 2508, with an electromagnetic dart release, vacuum clamping of the specimen and a graduated 5–500 g weight set. Manufactured in Mumbai, CE marked and calibration-certified.
