A peel tester measures the force required to separate two bonded layers — such as a lidding film from a container, a laminate ply from its substrate, or an adhesive tape from a surface. The sample is gripped in two jaws and pulled apart at a controlled angle (typically 90° or 180°) and constant speed while a load cell records the peel force along the length of the seal.
