Overview

Verify plastic pipes survive real-world impact

Plastic pipes must resist sudden impact in handling, transport and service. In the falling-weight test a striker is dropped from a set height onto a pipe sample cradled in a 120° V-block, and the pipe is inspected for failure — to IS 4985 and IS 12235 (Part 9).

How the test works

Step by step
